Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia)

Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia)

Song sparrow, North American variation, is streaked brownish above with brown wings.Dark, dense streaking may merge into central spot on whitish breast. Long rounded tail pumped in flight. Wide grey eyebrow, brown crown with grey central stripe, dark mustache mark.

Rainbow’s End Rose

Rainbow's End Rose flower

 Rainbow’s End Rose. While growing in full sun the light red on the petals of the flower become a dark red, almost completely covering the petals. The flowers at a begining open as a deep yellow, flushing with dark red. As the flower opens fully, the dark red fades to a pink. The plant usually has three flowers in different stage, so at any given time making it look as though there are tree different roses on the same plant.

Weekend's backyard photgraphs.

...Last weekend...It were couple of suny days, so I spend some time in my backyard. You now, cuting a grass, planting a seeds and another staf like that. By the way I hold my camera with me and there what I got!

It is just one of them. A few years ago, when I put first feeder, hardly one humming was coming weekly. Today I can say they are my PERMANENT VISITORS. More then 13-18 appreciate my hospitality daily!

That guy living in birdhouse I built for...Red-breasted Nuthatch.Some thing wrong here! May be I made a mistake? I am not frendly whith inches. Or that doesn't care about?  Any way, usualy they are very jumpy, but that time the guy was surprised  by empty feeder, which one I clined up a few minet before, and also was screaming at me!

This photo was taken at the West Dyke in Richmond, BC, Canada. A pair of Bald Eagles has nested there for a long time, The nest is pretty close to a trail and you can see them almost all time.

Common merganser

Common merganser taking of of water.

This merganser is regularly seen along raging streams or chunks of ice in winter lakes. You can find large flocks in winter, often facing the same direction. It obtains food by diving in deep water. However, it also seen in shallow water.

Female can be confused with female Red-Breasted Merganser.
